Karlie Lemos is a traveler, cyclist, hiker, natural foods guide and cook, music enthusiast and most importantly a student. Of all of these passions, her studentship is what drives her to share the teachings of yoga; and it is her students who inspire her the most.
She studied English and earned her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as a public school teaching certification at Texas State University in 2001. Her first teaching adventure was in the the elementary school classroom where her innate ability to creatively imbue information was developed. Little did she know that these skills would later be employed in a much more universal curriculum.
Through her journey of teaching youngsters Karlie became acquainted with the path of service and realized that her passion lies in helping others. Teaching yoga is the vehicle that allows her to do what she loves!
Introduced to the practice of yoga in 1998, she was amazed at how these ancient traditions slowly began to seep into her life. As she deepened her practice, she realized it was her path to take the seat of the teacher...and she has been there since 2005.
Karlie is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher at the highest level of certification (500 hour level (E-RYT) and is qualified to offer continuing education. She has acquired these hours of formal training primarily under the guidance of Christina Sell. Karlie has spent recent years studying the Luminous Soul Method with Manorama D'Avila and is inspired by the Buddhist path. She has taught in Austin, Texas and in Puerto Escondido, Mexico and has lived and studied at the Mount Madonna Ashram in northern CA where she was lucky enough to study philosophy twice a week with Sri Guru Baba Hari Das. Her teachings are informed by years spent studying the Anusara yoga™ method, the philosophies of Patanjali’s 8 limbed path, Tantra yoga, the Iyengar method of yoga, the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage and yin and restorative yoga.
